Witan Sulaeman is a national player who was once predicted to have a bright light. His name began to rise when he became a key player in the Indonesian national team for his age group. In fact, Witan made his debut in the senior Indonesian national team at a very young age.
He made his debut in 2021 when the Garuda Squad tested against Oman. At that time, Witan appeared for 22 minutes as a substitute. He came on to replace Evan Dimas in the 68th minute. To date, Witan has recorded 32 matches with the senior Indonesian national team. His statistics are scoring nine goals and making eight assists with a total of 2,004 minutes played.
Witan is a player who operates in the attack line. He can play as an attacking midfielder or wing striker. His attractive game makes it easy for him to get to big name clubs.
Witan first appeared in national football when he was still registered as a student at the Ragunan Special School for Sportsmen (SKO). He often received calls from the young Indonesian national team coach at that time, Indra Sjafri. He strengthened SKO Ragunan from 2016 to 2019. After that, Witan anchored at PSIM Yogyakarta.
The team that plays in League 2 is Witan’s first professional club. However, he only briefly strengthened Laskar Mataram, namely from August 2019 to February 2020. From League 2, Witan moved to Europe. His first club on the Blue Continent was FK Radnik Surdulica, a member of the Serbian Super League.
Witan strengthened Radnik Surdulica until 1 September 2021 and after that moved to Lechia Gdanks in the Polish League. With Lechia Gdansk, he stayed until January 2022 because he was loaned to FK Senica in the Slovak Super League.
Witan’s loan period at FK Senica ends in May 2022. After that, Lechia Gdansk released him to AS Trencin, a club that is also in the Slovak Super League. Witan’s trip to Europe will temporarily end in January 2023. This is because he returned to Indonesia to accept the offer to join Persija Jakarta.
Witan’s performance with Persija in League 1 did not disappoint. Under the direction of coach Thomas Doll, he still gets enough playing time.
However, in the transfer market during the middle of this season, Persija surprisingly loaned Witan to Bhayangkara FC. This loan has made Kemayoran Tiger fans wonder, plus there are rumors that The Guardian brought him in for free.
However, Bhayangkara FC denied that there were high costs to bring in Witan. Now in the second round of Liga 1 2023/2024, he is expected to be able to help Bhayangkara escape from the bottom table.
